Appointment Types

**Masks are required for all appointments**

Travel Assessment

You can book a travel assessment appointment for travel related vaccines or regular vaccines. Our doctors provide prescriptions, health advice, and vaccine recommendations tailored to your medical history and travel itinerary. Once the doctor completes the assessment, our nurses can provide the vaccinations within the same appointment. The cost of vaccinations are in addition to the appointment costs. We have group rates available and discounts for returning clients.

Ideally you should book your appointment 4-6 weeks prior to departure. This will give you enough time to complete vaccines (including vaccines that require more than 1 dose). If you are leaving on short notice or are a last minute traveller we are happy to accommodate you to provide adequate coverage given the time allowed.

Nurse Only Vaccinations & Immunization Reviews

You can book an appointment without a doctors assessment if you are only looking for a follow-up booster or specific vaccine (excluding the yellow fever vaccine) which can be given by a nurse. You will not see the doctor, receive vaccine recommendations, be given prescriptions, or travel/health advice. This appointment costs $25 if you have not been to our clinic before, plus the cost of the vaccinations.

If you require an immunization review for work or school the cost is $50 plus the cost of vaccinations. Some vaccinations may be covered by the government under your carecard (PHN – personal health number).

Virtual Travel Assessment

Travel assessments by email are available for people who live outside the Lower Mainland. A virtual assessment costs $60 per person, vaccination costs are not included. You will need a health care provider or a clinic in your area who can administer the recommended vaccines. Have your pharmacy name and fax number ready as we will fax your travel prescriptions to this pharmacy.

To receive a virtual assessment, fill out the request form and email it to We will send your assessment via email within 3-5 working days.

Note: If you choose to use email, it may not be secure or reliable and you assume all risks associated with its use. VCH does not take any responsibility for ensuring that the form is securely delivered to us.

TB Skin Tests

Tuberculosis skin tests require a follow-up visit 48-72 hours after the initial test to read the result. A TB skin test cannot be done if you have received a live vaccine in the last 4 weeks (eg: Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR), Chicken Pox or Yellow Fever). This costs $60 and requires 2 appointments.

This service is available at the Vancouver location only (not available on Wednesday evenings or Thursdays as no follow up appointment is available).

Immunization Review for Medical Students

If you are applying for medical school, a doctor can review your form to help you complete the application.

If vaccines are needed, our nurses can give them in the same appointment, the cost of vaccinations are additional cost.

If you require TB testing, do not get a live vaccine (Flumist, MMR, Chicken Pox, or Yellow Fever vaccine) within 4 weeks of your appointment. We can schedule those vaccines here if they are needed. The cost is $50 for one form. Any additional forms are $25 each. This does not include the cost of TB testing or vaccines.
