Hilda Bunagan, Booking Clerk/Secretary
Meet Hilda Bunagan, a Booking Clerk/Secretary at the University of British Columbia (UBC) Hospital Sleep Disorders Clinic. The UBC Hospital Sleep Disorder Program was established in 1981 and aims to help patients recover from complex sleep disorders and related conditions.
In her role, a typical workday includes various clerical and reception duties such as scheduling and booking appointments, maintaining patient charts and appointment calendars, answering photo calls, and more. Hilda has now worked in the role for 20 months, and states that she often feels inspired whenever she can help patients and their families. Constantly incorporating the organizational values in her role, Hilda ensures she provides exceptional care and comfort to the patients.
One of Vancouver Coastal Health’s (VCH) strategic priorities is to build a better workplace. Hilda shares her overall appreciation for the kind and supportive work environment. “My colleagues inspire and motivate me, especially on busy days. Without hesitation, we help each other out and I am grateful that we have become friends.” She also goes on to applaud the patients as they often share positive sentiments towards the staff.
