Mental health tertiary services are specialized services for people with serious and long-lasting mental illnesses. Some people may also have needs related to drugs or alcohol.
About Adult Tertiary Mental Health and Assessment Treatment
We provide 24-hour specialized in-depth assessment and treatment for people experiencing acute psychiatric symptoms who require a secure, specialized treatment environment.
Patients stay in the Willow Pavilion from between three to six months, depending on individual needs. People transition from this program to either a Tertiary Mental Health Rehabilitation Program or to community and residential mental health services available within Vancouver Coastal Health.
In addition to 1:1 meetings with members of your care team, a variety of groups will be available to you. Learn more
Community meetings happen once a week and provide people on the unit with an opportunity to discuss concerns and have input into how the unit is run. We value your voice and feedback and ask that you attend these meetings.
Healthy Living group happens after breakfast three mornings a week. The goal of this group is to help you learn strategies that support your recovery, including managing your time on the unit.
