The Cardiac Interventional Procedure Unit (Cathlab) provides angiography, angioplasty, structural heart valve and electro physiology procedures, as well as pacemaker and defibrillator implants.

Get a referral
A referral from a cardiologist or internist is required.
An information booklet, "preparing for a coronary angiogram or angioplasty," will be sent via mail to the client once the procedure date is booked. When the appointment is confirmed, a booking clerk will send a requisition for a blood test to the lab closest to the client. The blood test needs to be performed prior to the procedure date.

- Monday: 6:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
- Tuesday: 6:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
- Wednesday: 6:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
- Thursday: 6:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
- Friday: 6:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
- Saturday: Closed
- Sunday: Closed
How to get here
The Cardiac Cath lab is located on the west end (closer to Oak and Laurel Street) of the Ground floor of the Jim Pattison Pavilion South building at Vancouver General Hospital. Please report to Station 7 (Heart Services) when you arrive to the hospital and you will be admitted for your procedure.
