Vancouver Coastal Health operates this long-term care.  

Room and building

A total of 250 complex care beds with 249 extended care beds and 1 respite bed. There are 70 single bed rooms and 90 double bed-rooms. The rooms with double beds have a shared bathroom. 

Gift shop, and hair salon on the main floor, dining rooms, activity rooms, TV lounges and a courtyard or balcony on each unit.

Accessibility

All units and sidewalks are wheelchair accessible. Pick up area at the front of the building is covered. Visitors are not allowed to bring motorized scooters in the care home.

Language, culture, religious affiliations

The resident population is multicultural and variety of languages are spoken. Several religious services are held on a regular basis.

Special recreation opportunities

Scheduled recreational activities are offered seven days a week, such as fitness activities, music programs, bus outings, special lunches, games, etc.

Safety and security 

Camera surveillance at the front and back entrance, access code required to enter building, intercom/door bell available if code is unknown, wandering system for residents, regular rounds by Paladin security.

Neighbourhood and community amenities

Minoru Residence is situated across Richmond Center Mall and located near bus stops, parks, library, recreation center, theaters, banks and grocery stores.

Minoru Residence is a three-storey building built in 1993 with gardens or balconies in each neighbourhood.
