Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) uses a specialized machine with strong magnets and radio waves to create detailed images of the body.

It is a safe way to get a closer look at structures and tissues in your body including the brain, spine, joints, muscles, abdomen, and blood vessels.

How to access

  • Get a referral

    Have your physician complete a regional MRI requisition form and appropriateness checklist. 

  • Book an appointment

    By appointment only.  The department clerk will contact patients to book the appointment. Call (604) 822-7720 to change or cancel an appointment.
