Mental health outpatient services provide assessment, consultation and time-limited group therapy treatment for adults ages 19 and up.
About Mental Health & Substance Use Outpatient Services at Vancouver General Hospital (VGH)
We provide short-term services for adults in Vancouver (19+) experiencing moderate to severe mental health or concurrent mental health and substance use disorders leading to impacted functioning in their daily living.
This program is for clients who do not meet the threshold of serious and persistent MHSU concerns that require Community Mental Health and Substance Use Team intervention.
Vancouver MHSU Outpatient Services is a part of Vancouver Community Mental Health and Substance Use (MHSU) Services and aims to support and provide treatment up to 6 months.
Clients may access one or more of these time-limited supports:
- Care Coordination – Ensuring successful connection to services and resources.
- Group Support – Group sessions with health care providers and/or peers.
- One-on-One Support – Individual sessions with health care providers and/or peers.
- Psychiatry Consultation – Meetings with a psychiatrist for assessment, treatment and coordination of care planning.
