This community-based cardiac rehabilitation and prevention program aims to identify people with cardiovascular disease or those requiring risk factor modification. The program counsels participants on an evidence-based regimen of medical therapy and lifestyle optimization. Sessions run in January, April, and September. Our team consists of an Internal Medicine physician, a registered dietitian, a registered nurse, a physiotherapist, and a clinical pharmacist.

Our classes
The program includes the following:
- An 8-week series comprised of weekly 2-hour group sessions (1-hour of education, 1-hour of supervised exercise)
- Education topics include intro to heart disease, risk factor modification, blood pressure management, stress management + mindfulness, dietary sodium, fats + fibre, into to diabetes, mindful eating, and medication review with a community pharmacist.

Check eligibility
The program is designed for people who have had a heart attack, an angiogram/angioplasty, bypass surgery, valve problems, or those with a high risk of developing heart disease.
Adult clients living in the Sea to Sky corridor may access the program in person (in Squamish) or virtually (via Zoom).
