The Traditional Elders and Knowledge Keepers Program embeds Elders and Knowledge Keepers from different First Nations at community sites.

They have life experiences, historical knowledge, spiritual wisdom, and cultural connections to support client and patient care and play an essential role in ensuring culturally safe care at VCH.

Traditional Elder and Knowledge Keeper services

Spiritual Care at Oak Care Centre offers compassionate support to residents, families, and staff during times of stress, uncertainty, or transition. The Health Care Practitioner provides a calming presence, spiritual and emotional support, and helps individuals draw strength from their own beliefs, values, and sources of meaning.
