Long-term care provides professional care and supervision to adults in a supportive and secure environment. The services are available to people with complex care needs or conditions who cannot live safely and independently at home.
How to access
If you or someone you know is interested in receiving home and community care services, call the access line contact information in your area.
When you connect with the home and community care office, a Home Health clinician will help you determine eligibility and if appropriate, arrange to conduct a health needs assessment.

Features
The Berkley Care Centre is a 189 bed long-term care facility licensed under the Community Care and Assisted Living Act. Berkley does not have any private pay beds.
Room and building: Lending library, resident’s kitchen, common lounges with television, community room, outdoor patio and gardens. On-site optional service providers: hairdresser, optometrist, dentist, podiatrist, and esthetician. There is also a family room which may be booked at a nominal cost for overnight stays.
Special recreation opportunities: Recreation therapist, music therapist and activity workers organize a wide range of social and recreational opportunities. Monthly calendar of events is delivered to each unit and daily activities are posted.
Accessibility: Two elevators to help access the three story building. The entrances, gardens, interior amenity spaces and rooms are wheelchair accessible. Scooters are not permitted.
Safety and security: Equipped with sprinklers, smoke detectors and a monitored fire safety system.
Neighbourhood and community amenities: Located just off the south end of Mt. Seymour Parkway, approximately 3 kms from Parkgate Mall. A bus stop is located within 100m of the home.
