Richmond Hospital will be adding a new nine-floor acute care tower, the Yurkovich Family Pavilion, which includes a bigger emergency department, more operating rooms, an intensive care unit; a fully equipped medical imaging department; a pharmacy; and short-stay pediatrics. This will give Richmond, with its growing and aging population, the acute care it needs moving into the future.

Last month, programs and services formerly located in the Rotunda at Richmond Hospital moved to the newly renovated fifth floor of the North Tower (5 North). These programs moved to facilitate the Rotunda demolition to prepare for the construction of the new acute care tower, the Yurkovich Family Pavilion.

“We are so grateful to everyone who has moved into their new spaces on 5 North. We know change is not easy and getting used to a new work space takes time, This is a huge step towards demolishing the Rotunda which is planned for the end of this year. Everyone who was part of this project and this move is helping to build a bigger and better Richmond Hospital. ”

Sharon Petty, Chief Project Officer & Executive Director, Richmond Hospital Redevelopment.
