VCH begins next phase of community engagement on the future of health services in Sea to Sky region
Vancouver, B.C. – Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) will begin the next phase of community engagement this month in the Sea to Sky corridor with the goal of improving and enhancing current and future health-care services in the fast-growing region.
As part of the planning process, VCH developed a clinical services plan for the Sea to Sky region and community plans for Squamish, Whistler and Pemberton, based on historical data and trends, industry best practices, population projections and input from the Sea to Sky community, the six First Nations in the Sea to Sky corridor, as well as staff and medical staff.
Once finalized, these plans will contribute to a vision and roadmap for future health-care services at a regional and community level. They will help inform the space required and the infrastructure recommendations set out in Health Vision Sea to Sky. Moving forward, VCH will work with the B.C. Government and other relevant partners to further coordinate, engage and advance the recommendations outlined in Health Vision Sea to Sky, as appropriate.
VCH is now inviting our community to attend engagement sessions which will be held both in person and online. During the sessions, we will share what we heard during previous engagements, present highlights from the Sea to Sky clinical services plan and community plans, and invite participants to ask questions and provide feedback.
