ADHD family education assists parents who have children diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) to develop positive parenting practices and behavioural management strategies.
What to expect
The Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) program is designed to help develop positive parenting practices and behavioural management strategies for parents who have children diagnosed with ADHD.
We help parents and youth by providing:
- effective communication strategies,
- behaviour management strategies,
- stress and anger management strategies,
- problem solving and coping skills,
- esteem building skills,
- information on medications,
- consultations with other health-care professionals, and
- community presentations.
Education sessions
Our family-based services include group education sessions for parents about the neurobiology and characterises of ADHD. We also offer individual/family consultations for families who are enrolled in the education sessions.
ADHD Program – Child & Youth Mental Health School-based Hub
School-based workshops are also available to school staff in Vancouver upon request.
