Located at the Immigrant Services Society of BC (ISS of BC) Welcome Centre, the Care for Newcomers clinic provides initial health care to Government Assisted Refugees who have recently arrived in Canada and are staying in temporary housing at the Welcome Centre.

Services provided

We work in direct partnership with Immigrant Services Society of BC (ISS of BC) to support newly arrived government assisted refugees. 

Our services include: 

  • Post arrival health assessments with nurses and physicians
  • Comprehensive health screening
  • Health coordination (including diagnostics, prescriptions and referrals)
  • Health navigation support
  • Vaccinations

How to access

  • Closed intake

    The Care for Newcomers clinic has a closed intake process and does not accept external referrals.
