The Safe Babies Program ensures that infants in foster care with prenatal drug, alcohol, or disease exposure issues are nurtured in a safe environment that supports optimal development.
What to expect
This program provides support and training to parents with infants in the care of the Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD) or of Vancouver Aboriginal Child and Family Services Society (VACFSS) who have issues relating to prenatal drug, alcohol, or communicable disease exposure, and prematurity or low birth weight.
The Safe Babies coordinator is a resource for health professionals, social workers, and foster caregivers working with infants in MCFD or VACFSS care.
