Youth Pregnancy & Parenting Program (YPPP)

The Youth Pregnancy & Parenting Program (YPPP) provides support and resources to pregnant Vancouver youth (24 and under) and their babies.
What to expect
The Youth Pregnancy and Parenting Program services include:
- nutrition counselling with a Dietitian during pregnancy;
- one-to-one support with housing, finances and other social challenges with a Support Worker;
- weekly prenatal education group with a Public Health Nurse and Youth Support Worker;
- youth-focused parent-infant drop-in groups until the baby is 18 months old;
- free hot lunches provided at groups;
- food skills cooking classes and demonstrations;
- counseling with a Youth Counselor; and
- clothing and food donations.
Low-income clients may also receive:
- grocery gift cards,
- free dental hygiene visits,
- transit tickets,
- free prenatal vitamins, and
- vitamin D drops for babies.
Youth with multiple barriers may apply to access the YPPP maternity clinic, which offers:
- A youth-friendly medical team including Nurse Practitioners, Nurses, Physicians and others, that follow youth and their baby; and
- Family doctors that deliver at BC Women’s Hospital.
