Paediatric nursing support services provide community-based paediatric medical services for children 0 to 19 years with complex medical conditions such as diabetes, seizures, tube feeding, and catheters.

Check eligibility
Nursing support services provide care for infants, children, and youth who require the scope of practice of a registered nurse for some aspects of their care due to the child or youth’s medically complex and fragile health needs.

Get a referral
A referral from a physician or nurse practitioner is required. To make a referral, please send the Nursing Support Services referral form to the email or fax number listed on the form.
Hours of operation
- Monday: 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Tuesday: 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Wednesday: 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Thursday: 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Friday: 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Saturday: Closed
- Sunday: Closed
Parking & Transportation
Underground parking is available, as well as limited street parking.
Elevators are available from the underground parking lot.
The North Shore Nursing Support Services team provides the following services:
1. In-home respite care for children with chronic, complex health conditions that need any of the following:
- non-invasive ventilation (CPAP, BiPAP),
- tracheostomy care
- NJ/NG feeds
- parenteral nutrition
- peritoneal dialysis
- other conditions requiring the support of a registered nurse
2. Delegated care in the school setting, which includes training and ongoing support for school staff who care for children who need help managing a chronic health challenge while at school.
Delegated care includes the following:
- G/J-Tube feeds
- diabetes care (routine blood glucose monitoring and insulin administration)
- oral or nasal suctioning
- catheterization
3. At Home Program assessments
NSS coordinators complete eligibility assessments for the At Home Program, supported through the Ministry of Children & Family Development (MCFD). For more information on the At Home Program and how to apply, please visit the At Home Program website.
