The Bladder Care Centre at UBC Hospital supports clients across the Vancouver Coastal Health region to prevent, educate, research, diagnose and treat lower urinary symptoms. We combine care, health professional education, and research into providing integrated bladder health services, caring for approximately 10,000 clients annually.
Referrals and wait times
The Bladder Care Centre offers services for adults only. A doctor’s referral is required.
A urologist can also refer you to the Bladder Care Centre. Talk to your doctor, Nurse Practitioner or walk-in physician for a urologist referral. Wait time for referrals and appointment availability can range from six to 12 months.
Referring health professionals
- Referrals must include a complete referral form, a letter outlining medical and psychiatric history, disabilities, mobility aids, weight, language barriers, correct pronouns used by the patient, current medications and dosage. Incomplete or incorrect referrals will be sent back to your clinics.
- Referral forms must only be filled out by a physician.
- Fax the completed referral form and letter with information to 604-822-6984.
