Harm reduction: Toward the Heart 

The Child & Adolescent Response Team (CART) provides an urgent response (within 72 hours), and short-term mental health service to school-aged children and youth who are experiencing acute psychiatric or emotional crises.

How to access

  • Check eligibility

     

    • Children aged 5 to 18 years old
    • Resident of Vancouver
    • Clients with a private psychiatrist or who are working with a VCH Child and Youth Mental Health team are not eligible for short-term treatment. 
  • Make a referral

    Anyone who is concerned a child or youth who may be experiencing a mental health or emotional crisis or at possible risk of suicide can contact CART for more information or to make a referral. Contact CART at (604) 874-2300.
