VCH encourages eligible Powell River residents to register for their COVID-19 vaccination
B.C.'s Provincial Health Officer rescinds orders for COVID-19
This news release contains information that is more than six months old and may be out of date. On July 26, 2024, B.C.’s Provincial Health Officer issued an order to end the public health emergency for COVID-19 and rescinded all related orders.
Vancouver, B.C. – Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) issued a reminder to residents of Powell River and surrounding communities to ensure they are registered on the Get Vaccinated provincial registration system.
To receive an alert to book your appointment for your first or second dose you must be registered on this platform: www.gov.bc.ca/getvaccinated.
Residents of Powell River and surrounding communities born in 2009 or earlier (12+ years of age) are eligible to receive their first dose vaccine, with second dose appointments scheduled approximately eight weeks following your first dose appointment.
Registering takes approximately two minutes and ensures you receive your vaccination appointment as quickly and efficiently as possible. To register, you will be asked to provide your:

Email address that you regularly check or a phone number that can receive texts.
If you don’t have a Personal Health Number or if you are unable to book online, you can register by phone at 1-833-838-2323. The call centre is open seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. or 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on holidays. Those who would prefer register in-person can visit a Service BC office.
The COVID-19 vaccines available in Canada are safe and effective in preventing severe disease associated with COVID-19 infection. Residents with questions about the vaccines are advised to visit www.vch.ca/vaccine for further information. They can also speak to their health care provider, including their nurse practitioner or family doctor.
